Village Show

sHOW DATE 2016

Countdown to Show Time

The Wood Street Village Show is the highlight of the village calendar and the largest event we hold. The village green is transformed to host one of the best village shows in the area, full of traditional atmosphere and events including maypole dancing, a dog show, Punch & Judy, Morris dancers, classic cars, a beer and tea tent, dozens of stalls, car boot area and more.

There is also a large horticultural marquee bursting with home-grown produce and crafts. If you would like to enter something you’ve grown or made, you’ll find the Schedule of Classes available to download below.

Anyone can enter provided they are a member of the Horticultural Society (it’s only £3 per household for a year’s membership).

Registration of entries takes place on Wednesday 6 July at Inholms Farm, 48 The Green (details in the Schedule).

Simply come along with your registration form and your entry fee. On the day of the Show, bring your exhibits to the marquee between 9 and 10.45am. Judging takes place after that, with the winners being announced in the afternoon.

The Show has been going longer than anyone can remember and brings the whole village together, as well as attracting visitors from far and wide, many of whom have it marked in their diaries months ahead.

This year the Show takes place on Saturday 9th July from 1 to 5pm. See you there!

(If you can spare some time and would like to get involved, we are always looking for volunteers to help set up and run the day. Please contact John Rowland on 01483 237231.)
